> Hear ! Hear !  Nirgal Vallis add Mexican folk culture to their music which makes the prog they are playing far more interesting (to my ears anyway). This group is very very symphonic.
I must add that NV never gig. They only get to the studio (actually, owned by Jos?Luis Fern?dez Ledesma) make some recordings and that's it.
> I have their release "Ymurio La Tarde" available at Cranium Music.
It's a MUSEA release and, for my taste, an outstanding sample of the best symphonic progressive music in years. Their new album will soon come out on Luna Negra Label.
> A very good musician who has come out of Nirgal Vallis is "Jose Luis Fernandez Ledesma Q" who has one release on the Luna Negro Label and also a release on the Musea Label.
Jos?Luis's "Extractos" is on our record label while "Motivos para Perderse" is on Musea. "Extractos" is a sort of compilations of some music for theater plays and other tracks more in the same vein of NV; "Motivos..." is a conceptual album about an imaginary journey. I must tell you that all lyrics in NV are in spanish; Jos?Luis has included some vocals but his work is mainly instrumental.
Jos?Luis has an album on ReR Megacorp with singer/composer Alquimia, "Lenguas Muertas". Wow!

Excellent mexican band, probably one of the best from that country. Very melodic, violin-driven prog, not too different from the italian classics. A shabby track here or there, but overall it's a nice album. I like it :) The violin playing is just beautiful...

Probably the best symphonic band coming from Mexico. One CD is available through Musea. NV Keyboardist, Jos?Luis Fern?dez Ledesma has three cds available: "Motivos para Perderse", on MUSEA. "Extractos" on our own LUNA NEGRA (reviewed somewhere on e-progweb page), and "Lenguas Muertas" on RECOMMENDED.

Very "mellow" symphonic prog. Some would say too mellow...
