FK is guitarist Roine Stolt's project for the 90's...its highly symphonic and
he as a crack band backing him up...the songs are extremely well written with
about 50% of them instrumental. There are catchy hooks all over the place and
you will prolly find yourself humming little bits and pieces to and from
work. Roine handles most of the vocals...and while he sings english with a
very slight Swedish accent it doesnt get in the way at all...in fact I really
like his vocals..sounding at times like a smoother John Wetton. His guitar
playing is absolutely stellar as is drummer Jamie Salazar's work. (anyone
remember Salazar from that kick ass Jonas Hellborg disk with the 2 bass
players and Salazar playing DDrums..its smokes..its called "Jonas Hellborg
Group"..but I digress).

I would happily recommend all the Flower Kings albums (my favourite is "Back
in the World of Adventure")...

Flower Kings-Edition Limited Quebec: Out of all the titles on this list, I
bet this is the most recognizable. If your a fan, you are going to love
it...if not, this is a great place to start. This is live versions of old
faves and previously unreleased material. Very well recorded and played with
Stolts usual sense of style and grace.

> Glad to see someone else who likes The Flower Kings!
Maybe it isn't extraordinary for someone living in the States, but I
travelled almost 600 Miles (from Hoorn in Holland to Stuttgart, Germany) to
see them play the first time live outside of Sweden! A truly magnificent
experience. They're an amazing band who can enter the stage without one song
rehearsed or prepared and make up setlists just while playing. And let's not
forget their albums. I never thought the first one could be improved, but
just like Spock's Beard and Ayreon, they showed me!

I haven't had the extreme pleasure of seeing them live yet, but they are
truly wonderful. It's a joy listening to them mix it up
instrumentally on album and I'm sure they really "cook" in concert. And
it's still pretty extraordinary to travel that far to see a concert, even in
the states :)

Subject: Last Road trip...
First up was the second live recording I brought, TFK's "Alive on Planet
Earth" Disc 1 only. I love the Flower Kings big time. This live CD has many
of the excellent Flower King songs that I dearly love. That said, the more
jazzy parts foretell their Space Revolver CD which for some reason I cannot
get close to.
