Electric Light Orchestra Reviews

The string-section wall of sound feature of ELO certainly was novel in the early 70s, and when they appeared on Don Kirshner twirling their cellos (hey, Kerry should have done that!) no one noticed now vacuous the tunes really were. The 3rd LP had some neat synth work and some good solos, but I'd rather listen to Darryl Way for good progrock violin (leave alone Graeme Smith or David Cross), and anyone but that voice, that voice... can't get it out of my head, for all eternity, not such an Eldorado for me...
