this album was a big shock to me when it first came out because of GD's
reputation (as a MOR-hack) and the unfortunate title...it is one of the best
pure synth albums _ever_!

I second Dr. J's opinion on this one (New Dance Orchestra)! There are enough
bits on there that you are bound to find something you like (something
like 32 tracks, arranged in four "suites" or was it six?, that each have their
own flavor; orchestral, ethnic, traditional, etc). It has been rather hard to
find, but I think that it was re-issued not long ago.

...New Dance Orchestra is a great synth album with lovely digital textures
(although a little minimoog is to be heard now and then). The wall of
keyboards won't blow you through the windows, but you won't sleep through it
either. I remember paying a small fortune for New Dance Orchestra (5 suites, 33
tracks) as an import 2 years ago, but I noticed that Blueprint finally issued
NDO and Vox Humana domestically here in the US. If my lousy memory serves, I saw
them both at around 11.99 at Circuit City last week.

I'd certainly have to concur with that. I like both New Dance Orchestra
discs quite a bit, although they are quite different. I really would like
to hear him do more instrumental synth work like the first one. The second
one wasn't nearly as strong, but the piano version of Video Killed the Radio
Star makes it worth it alone.
