Great fem vocs on it ....
I am mad about them... to my mind Rhys Fulber and Bill Leeb are some of
the most talented electronic musicians ever... whether they are Delerium,
Conjure One, Intermix, Synaethesia, Noise Unit, Pro-tech, Equinox, or Front
Line Assembly they are inventive, fresh, and oozing talent.
Kristy Thirk, Camille Henderson, and Sarah McLachlan are brilliant singers..
Sarah being really well-known hereabouts.. don't know how they do it, but in
addition to the ladies mentioned previously, they have attracted other,
equally famous and delightful singers, such as: Jenifer McLaren, Leigh Nash,
Jenifer Mclaren, Joanna Stevens, and Kirsty Hawkshaw.
Bill and Rhys have split, but Bill's (as Delerium) "Poem" from 2000 is truly
delish... people who like "Karma" and Semantic Spacer" will like it. It's a
beautifully produced album, with a re-mixed bonus album... packaged very
attractively.
A caveat... the Archives 1 and 2, released in Britain in October (maybe
Australia, too...dunno) and expected to see daylight in the US in March 2002
will contain material from the following albums:
SYROPHENIKAN (1991) STONE TOWER (1992) MORPHEUS (1989) FACES, FORMS &
ILLUSIONS (1988) SPIRITUAL ARCHIVES (1993) SPHERES (I and II, 1994) CRYOGENIC
STUDIOS (1998)
and they are an entirely different cup'o'tea from "Karna" and "Semantic
Spaces." I like them all, but one has to listen with a different 'ear' to
them.... more spacey, and less melodic...
My confession for the week: This old codger loves to bop to good trance music
with people 1/3 his age ;-)).
