Chance: Escape to Horizon
Just thought I'd give a quick review of this disc, it might be a disc
e-proggers would be interested in. This is the one new release that Bernard
was really promoting at the Musea table, and based on his description I
decided to give it shot. And I was not disappointed, it's very good! I'd say
it's in the electronic/symphonic area, long lush epic tracks (instrumental)
with guitar and keys trading off. Most everything (keys, bass, drums) is done
by one Laurnet Simmonnet with guitar provided by Roine Stolt, Jean-Luc
Payssan and others. The drums are programmed, which usually makes me go
"Ugh", but here they are handled very well and do not detract from the music.
In the area of Tempus Fugit without the vox. Anyway, good stuff.

Subject: Chance
Just received a fantastic new release from that wonderful
French label Musea. Chance-"Escape to Horizon". Chance is basically one man,
Laurent Simonnet, who plays all keys, bass and drums. All digital but very
tastefully done. There are four guest guitarists on this album including
Jean-Luc Payssan of Minimum Vital and Roine Stolt. Very dynamic instrumental
with lots of keyboards and soaring guitar throughout. Similar to Xang but
better IMHO. Anybody else hear this CD?
